I do know that outside of the south, they tend to be in "inner city" areas like the NJ ones mentioned above, though the Berlin Tpke. strip makes sense as a good location for one (since that was mentioned in the OP's article). But I bet the others will be in Hartford city itself, Meriden, East Hartford, etc. Not meant as a "biased" remark, just saying that's where they seem to be using the NJ examples above (though the Bronx location is in a shopping area that gets people from the suburbs too).

A cheaper, greasier, McDonalds.

In Austin, they were only in poorer neighborhoods.

I don't find the Checkers in the Bronx to be cheaper than Mickey D's, but I hear you on the other points.......

In some areas of Tampa, they were in quite nice areas-but they seemed nearly gone as of last summer. I assumed they had all gone away-I was not correct.
