Hello everyone,

OK, I never thought I'd be the one asking questions about MetroNorth station parking, but here goes: I'm heading into Manhattan the day after Christmas with a few friends of mine. I know Milford station offers free parking on the weekends, but does anyone know how busy this station gets during the holidays, or even if free parking still applies? Also, if this station fills up, does anyone know of other stations where there's no fee for parking on the weekends? Worst case scenario, I'll just go to New Haven but I figure if I can avoid paying for parking I'd like to do that.

I know it's free in Darien if you can find a spot.

Any station without a garage should be free. So avoid Stamford and South Norwalk and Bridgeport and New Haven, at least.

They do tend to be quite bad at putting up signs saying this though. But I've never had problems parking at Darien or Fairfield on the weekend, or after 5 PM on weekdays.

Default Free Parking - Everywhere

Parking at most stations is free on weekends and holidays. The exceptions, as already noted, would be stations with garages like New Haven, Bridgeport, So Norwalk and Stamford.

Just a note to say do not park directly at the train station when in Seymour, those spaces where leased to the town to have them manage them years ago, and Seymour has decided that they are ONLY for use as 2 hour parking for the antique district.... If you want to park in Seymour for a day trip you are supposed to go to the police department and get a parking pass then park in 3 lots... 1 the triangle by the movie house. 2 the triangle down by the railroad trestle 3 the gravel lot on Wakely by the law firm by the 22 offramp of rt8- except I think the state was using the Wakely lot for something... God forbid you should want to park at the train station to take a train....LOL... The born locals woild tell you that would be some of them new fangled ideers from fancy college carpet baggers ruining them there antique district protectionist antics they worked so hard to set up...Lol... eh.. You have to hear this sh*!...

Any way. Don't park at the station. I really don't know where they want handicap rail riders to park

Stratford has about 25-30 non-reserved slots which are $5 on weekdays and free on weekends and holidays, on the Northbound side. When I find they're full, I just park in the Stratford library parking lot, which is about a 10-minute walk from the station. Thy have plenty of room.

The Stratford lots are free on Holidays, Weekends and on Weekdays after 12 noon. You can park in any spot (daily parking or permit parking) for free during these times.
