When it's warmer you can go to Lake Compunce. Other than that you gotta get out of Bristol. If you want to stay somewhat close there is Murphy and Scarletti's in Farmington if you want to drink. If you want a club you gotta go to Hartford or New Haven like Jay said. If you like country music there id the Cadillac Ranch other othe other side of I-84 in southington.

My old roommate lived in Bristol for a while and said he would never move back there because there was nothing to do.

This reminds me of the twenty something singles working at ESPN. All of them worked long hours because they don't want time to realize they live in Bristol. It's not a bad town, but tough for singles.

As for things to do, I think I read about some High Ropes courses they have there that look pretty cool.

You can drive around the rubble that was once the center mall and dream about what they are going to do, someday. You can also cruise all the strip malls and sit in traffic on RT6.

Other than that...nope, nothing.

People have to realize that Bristol is a very small city. It is not the center of the region so it does not have to offer people a lot of entertainment options. These are offered a short distance away in larger towns like Hartford or New Haven. I think the vision for downtown is good but it will take years before it is realized. Once that happens them maybe there will be more offered in the way of entertianment. Jay

In August I enjoy watching the Little League Baseball East Regionals at the Giamatti complex in Bristol. The games draw large crowds. Bristol has nice parks as well that include things like a disc golf course and swimming pools. In the winter there's a skating rink downtown.

If your into cafes/diners, there are quite a few decent ones: parkside cafe, luiza's, kizl's (actually in Southington, but close), Crystal diner, etc.

They have a ropes course at Pine Lake in Bristol. Maybe you are thinking of that. There's a ziplining center called Empower in Middletown.
