I'll take that any day over the maniacs we have here tailing people until they move over. Lots of bullying going on on CT's roadways.

That's a whole new thread... THIS thread is about the lack of visible stop signs and people lack of common sense when it comes to pulling out from a side street or parking lot...btw,@ least folks in VA WILL stop at a stop sign and you don't have to worry about being T-Boned by someone coming out of a parking lot

Yeah - people in VA, NC etc will wait, and wait, and wait, and wait, LOL. But like I said, I'll take that any day over the wild d-bags we have here.

LOL we have stop signs all over the place. Maybe you are just not used to how we stop at them, it's more like a roll just to make sure we have enough room to go. Stopping completely is a waste of time if you have the space to go.

I don't really see it so much up here in the Hartford region, but either one is ridiculous, and frankly illegal.

I simply can't stand the drivers in the South. Things like putting on your signal light for the car in front of you that's turning? They actually do PSA's in TN telling people NOT to do that. lol How many times did I have some fat clueless bword just stop on a busy blvd and wave someone out of a parking lot while a freight train like mass of cars behind her slam on the brakes.

The driving bulb ain't burning to bright down there

Yeah - I hear you. CT and NC are two opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to driving. It used to frustrate me to no end when someone driving 40 would stop to let a car turn left. It actually creates more traffic and confusion. Up here, things are definitely more swift, but certainly more aggressive. And that bullying does happen in the Hartford area - it happened to me on 91 in Windsor. It just happens more often in southern CT, and is particularly bad on Route 8 south of Waterbury for whatever reason.

It just makes me laugh with frustration when people say "oh drivers are the same everywhere". No, they're not.

Yep, that's pretty much it. Up here the problem is aggression, down there is blind ignorance.

I had similar experiences going West on I80. Anything West of Pittsburgh made me want to open a vein many times.

I've lived in NC, traveled to a huge portion of this country (TX, VA, CA, etc etc) and nowhere is it more of a zoo driving than it is in the Northeast. It's ridiculous here; when one lane slows on the highway, people will swing into the next and expect you to slam on your brakes.
Los Angeles and Boulder/Denver area. Just as bad, if not worse.

Although...I had read somewhere that the New England states scored the lowest on tests of driver education/knowledge of the law.

Stop means stop... roll means roll... I may take a pic tomorrow if I go back through just so you all can see what I am talking about and so you can see I'm not just talking crazy.... I've NEVER seen a sign that says "Roll"

A roll out onto a busy street is what causes accidents and gets people hurt or killed. I don't want you rolling, or rather flying out, from a side street hoping you have enough time and room to get out onto the street before you get hit. That's what I keep seeing... Mofos pulling out, no stopping, just pulling out....

I saw a chick almost get plummeled by a HUGE tow truck by doign that... Her ass should have gotten hit because she didn't even stop... just came flying out of the parking lot in front of the tow truck... It's sickening and dangerous!
