I'll take that anyday over the ultra-aggressive, get-out-of-my-way, zig zagging drivers I see daily on our highways. It's like they don't care if they hit you.

So, if you think "nobody's around" & you can get away with running
red lights, running stop signs, going left, when it's illegal to turn left on major thoroughfares, & you won't get caught, guess again!

And if you're trying to drive recklessly & think it's "cool" to nearly run over pedestrians when they have the right of way, in a crosswalk,
Reckless Drivers, you ARE being videotaped!
A small handful of CT towns and cities have cameras mounted at their intersections. Over the years, I have blown through these intersections while the lights were red and made all kinds of illegal turns.

It has been YEARS, and I have NEVER been ticketed for those offenses, despite the presence of mounted cameras.

That's because legally, you can't be prosecuted for it in the state of Connecticut.

Now be more courteous, would ya?

There are NO redlight cameras in Ct.

Wow, wishing death or serious injury upon others? I never advocated for the harm or death of anyone.

All I did was criticize the unnecessary obedience of certain laws, and you respond by wishing death upon me and other "typical CT drivers?"

You are sounding an awful lot like a New Yorker.

Thanks for the link, but I have personally seen mounted red-light cameras in this state in several areas. Granted, only in cities, but they're there. Perhaps they're not used for ticketing purposes. In which case, all the better for me and everyone else I know!

They are in New Haven along Frontage, but not used. I'm guessing it's to deter drivers from making bad decisions.

Umm yeah. By definition its not a red light camera if its not used to ticket red light violators. Just cause a camera is in public, next to a street, or intersection does not make it a red light camera. So no, you have not seen red light cameras IN Ct. Lol...

Those cameras are not for enforcement, they are for vehicle detection. instead of putting detectors in the pavement, they are now using cameras that can detect when a vehicle entering a set area and provide the proper amount of green time for that approach. Jay

We may have cameras but they are not red light cameras. I believe they are using them for traffic study.
