Do you agree with the rankings ?

A recent study the past year has show Fairfieild County/New Haven area is one of most congested highways/roads in North America and Europe

The Inrix traffic-data company has raided its archives to calculate the most congested cities in Europe and North America, as well as the total number of hours wasted in traffic.

Inrix looked at its records of real-time traffic on every road segment during peak hours (6am-10am and 3pm-7pm, Monday through Friday) to see how the actual speed every 15 minutes related to how fast traffic would have been if the road were free-flowing. Inrix added together all the congested segments in a given city and averaged it to create a score for that city. To calculate the wasted minutes in traffic, the firm looked at an estimated typical commuter trip length, and the number of trips taken each year.

Fairfield County rank 17th out of 100
New Haven County area Rank 89th out of 100

I see New Haven County is rather far down the list, but after commuting in that area for a while now - it's really quite minor traffic compared to other metro areas. Very much tolerable. NOTHING like FFC.

In fact, I'm surprised Hartford didn't rank higher than NH.

Fairfield County traffic only get worst with lack of funding to improve the Metro North Line.

Reading closer on this study, I'm not sure where you got counties from. It looks to be specifically cities? Which makes it strange that Bridgeport ranks worse than Stamford or Norwalk. I guess they're not included in the study at all due to size. Also, our cities are really tiny, so the average is going to be higher. New Haven is a tiny city, so of course most of the highways will be jammed statistically as they're only a couple miles long in NH.

It is rated by metro areas. The Bridgeport-Stamford-Danbury Area was combined. That said, if they did do metro areas, why wasn't New Haven, Bridgeport, and Danbury not integrated with NYC?

As for Hartford, Hartford should be up closer in the lost as they do get 8-10 mile delays on 84 & 91.
