For nep's benefit, I agree that the CT Family Institute are complete wackos but they have never endorsed a ct gubernatorial candidate and passed on foley four years and only endorsed reluctantly this go around.
That article is more than 4 years old. Jay

CT's Public Enemy #1, IMHO:

HE MUST GO....................
I agree. To rerun Foley was a big mistake. he just comes off as a wealthy a** who has little or no experience and no compassion or understanding of working people. This however is a probelm with the Republican Party across the country right now as well. Jay

Foley or Malloy Connecticut is doomed

The state is going become more unaffordable
Poor get poorer and rich get richer
More layoffs
I can see companies like RBS leaving the state
6.35% sale tax increase to 7%
Connecticut become number 1 or 2 for taxes
I can see they bring the toll back in middle of I-95 cause major traffic congestion
and so many more.

Not to mention the article says that Foley is "personally against gay marriage." It also says he will respect the CT law. Not sure if this is quite good enough for me...

I really, really don't want to vote for Malloy, but I can't find a single reason to vote for Foley.

^Sounds like the next Presidential election, lol!

I still have yet to stumble on a site that details both candidates and their respective views on several state/regional issues. I don't think Malloy was really effective, but, Republicans generally aren't my favorites post-recession, either. The common Republic. I know CT's a bit different with its Republicans.

Also fwiw, car only has the highest "state" employees per capita as a result of our government (I.e., no county level government).
Growth is not a relevent measure, if no other info is provided. If a state starts off with, for example, 35k median income, and it goes up $1,050 in one year, that is 3% growth.

State B starts at $60,000 median income, it rises$1,200, that is 2% growth.

But if all you compare is 3% vs 2%, the $1,050 gain appears better than the $1,200.

You mean the way higher taxes and shovel ready urban projects such as the busway demonstrate a real confederacy to the middle/working class? Give it a rest Jay.

Foley has formidable experience and strong results in turning around cyclical and or poorly managed businesses. This sounds like the right medicine for Connecticut.

Our pension funding ratio is only 53% funded and we have the third highest state and local tax burden in the country. But let's focus on the social issues while the ship is sinking right?

Social issues are always #1 to me, and millions of Americans. We will NOT tolerate authoritarian government by any stretch of the imagination. Antidiscrimination, equality and civil liberties are #1 no matter what. Telling people to put social issues on the backburner is a cop out; a soft way of saying "scroo you."

@nep321

What your predictions on how the state of CT will be like again if Malloy wins ?

Do you think taxes will increase again ?

CT is borrowing too much money how will our state credit rating be in the future ?
