Clear case of what winds off the ocean does to "light" precip with temps below freezing at 4500'.

Doesn't matter 850mb is below freezing, with winds off warmer waters AND with precip so light, it's raining at the CT coast. But snowing just minutes from the CT coast.

1 goes out, another comes in.

Precip starts tomorrow afternoon again. Some locations could start as rain and change to snow.

NAM12km here. Notice the CT coast again.

Wallingford had a delay this morning, highways were slushy by me and wet up north. By the time I got to Hartford it looked like it never snowed. But we all know Wallingford has it's own climate lol.

That's what is fascinating about CT. A small state but with so many microclimates within. You can drive short distances in any county and see big differences. I'm seeing some 1-2" reports here and there. Localized in those cold spots.

All done here, back edge just moved Fairfield County now

0.15" qpf total. (light)

Since the snow has left us in south/central CT, I've updated my winter weather log here: 95 North. . . The Wet Newspaper

Looking forward to more wintry precip in the next 1o days!

I agree! Sometimes I see a huge difference in snow totals from southern Wallingford, CT, to the hills in western Wallingford bordering Cheshire. So weird. Same town. Lots of variances in topography and elevation.

Rain moves in tomorrow afternoon then should be all snow by 10pm except the immediate coast.

Total qpf (liquid falling from sky) should be under an inch so not a big storm again, most of it should be rain as well.

BTW --- Chicago 1st snowfall came yesterday and it was the most snow they ever got for a first snowfall.
