Looking at a concert here, is there decent parking nearby? Fairly safe area considering it will be night?

There's several parking garages nearby, in addition to street parking. Perfectly safe.

Right across the street in the Crown Street garage.

We always park in the garage across the street. Easy peazy and $8 parking so works for me.

Sheesh, after $21 in taxes and venue fees... That's what I loved about Infinity in Norwalk, Paramount in Rutland - FREE parking. But at least it's close so that's a plus (the parking that is... would've gone to Rutland again but they were sold out)

If you're bothered by the parking costs at the garage, just find street parking. The block of College north of the green almost always has open spots and it's very safe.

I think you can get free parking by eating at some restaurants nearby.

The venue is fantastic, probably the best in the state.

Thanks Stylo! Not planning on eating out and would not expect to keep a car parked for an additional 4 hours without an issue.

Street parking is free? I'd expect it to be scarce on the night of a show.

And it's better than Infinity Norfolk? I really loved that place and I'll be seeing the same artist there.

Where are the bad new haven areas in relation to this venue?

I agree with Stylo. Last time we went to a show there, we had no problem finding a spot on the North side of the green. (If the show is on a Friday or Saturday night, it might be harder.) Street parking is free after 9 PM, so if you get there at 7 PM or so, you only need to pay two hours or $3. We saw big lines to get in and out of the garages, and they will run you $8 or so.

Show was great but I'm not sure I'd call it the best venue in the state. I saw the same group in Norfolk and liked the acoustics much better there.
