Hey everybody,

I have a question about a particular building in West Haven. Every time I drive by it on 95 I try to figure out what it is. The photo is attached is a picture of it. It is right near Exit 43 (north bound).
On the opposite of 95 is a residential neighborhood. The closest address I could find is 241 Highland Street.

I was just curious if anybody knew what it is? I am very curious.

Thanks!

The administration building for the former West Haven toll plaza can still be seen driving between Exits 42 and 43. Today, CONNDOT uses the old toll building as a maintenance facility.

But the question is...will it reopen since the state might bring back tolls?

It will not or should I say likely will not. If Connecticut does implement tolls, it will be open road tolling which does not have toll booths like we had in the old days. EZpass readers and cameras will be placed over the highway so traffic will not have to stop or even slow down to pay the toll. Connecticut will likely have to add personnel to handle the toll collections but that can be a remote office anywhere in the state and not along the highway. Jay
