Kind of like Martha Stewart.

This thread is awesome. After reading some unpleasant threads on here from transplanted New Yorkers about how cold and nasty people in CT are to newcomers I most certainly feel much more relieved now. I plan to make Central Connecticut (Hartford proper if I can find a place where I won't get shot) my new homestead by the middle of next year, pending being able to land a successful position, of course, with an accounting or financial services firm.

Hartford seems to have it all to me. Two hours to Boston, NYC, or Providence. Three hours to family back in Scranton. Under an hour to the shoreline or to the Berkshires. It truly is "New England's Rising Star!" I hope my new neighbors will be as friendly and welcoming as you have all been to me thus far.

Does anyone have any photos of the mansions in Greenwich? I just did some "cyber-visiting" via Virtual Earth's satellite imagery, and I was completely floored by all of the materialism prevalent in Greenwich. Is it true that the median home value in town is nearly $2,000,000?! That's almost as affluent as Scranton.

Yep. According to the GFC MLS, it's $1,999,000 (property # 80 of 159). NOTE: Greenwich has its own MLS of which I'm not a member.

These shots of downtown Hartford were taken last November while on a business trip. They were shot from the top of the "Trumbull on the Park" parking garage. While they don't contain the splendor of any fall foliage, they do show vantage points of the Travelers Tower and City Place not possible until only a couple of years ago.
