How often do you visit NYC? (Fairfield, Milford: high school, living in, vs.)

I wanted to see how often you/your family go into NYC? I am not talking about going in for work, because you have to, but rather to spend time in the City.
I imagine folks from Fairfield County are most likely to be in NYC due to the proximity, however would love to hear from anyone from CT who visits frequently.
My curiosity has been piqued by the fact that since moving here earlier this year, I have been to NYC exactly 1 time and even that was for a work related matter. Mentioning this in casual conversation, led to the other person losing their mind over the fact that I hadn’t visited more often. In contrast, I have been to Boston more than 20 times (originally from there, have friends etc.). Even though Boston is 2.5 hours away (low traffic) it doesn’t feel THAT far to me.
Of course, I may just be one of the few people who is oriented towards the north. Definitely do not want to turn this into an NYC vs. Boston thing, as I am genuinely interested in learning more about how you spend time in NYC.
In the good weather from April to October I try to get into the city about 1-2 times a month. When I go with my husband we drive but when alone I take the train.
I live a smidge closer to Boston than NYC. I visit NYC maybe twice a year. I visit the Boston suburbs maybe 4-5x a year (friends live there) but actually going into the city? Rarely, if ever. Boston just doesn't appeal as a destination to me.
