Just think, lets get it out of the way now and then Spring starts in February. I don't remember when we had 3 months of winter. Usually feels like just 2. So if we get cold and snowy December-January then maybe we'll get many 50s in February and 60s in March.

Forgetting all the snow chances coming up next 10 days, it's looking cold for December next 7 days+. Euro model has 3 separate arctic blasts. lol

Radar and temp loop last 4 hours 2:45-6:45pm.

Steady 50s for us. I'm seeing 20-30 degree drops during the day today behind the front. 80s to 50s in Louisiana.

Rain should be steadier for us tonight

Here's where the front is. Finally into PA now

Hate to jump 8 days ahead, but as Cam mentioned, there is the potential for a significant snowstorm Tuesday night and Wednesday. It's still way too early to know for sure. But geez- light snow possible fri and sat. . and then midweek. Winter excitement is back.

It was like watching a pot get to boil. Been waiting for this front for over a week now cause I knew the pattern would change. Buckle up?

Just read this for Friday

National Weather Service New York NY
624 PM EST Tue Dec 5 2017

complicated scenario shapes up for late week into the weekend,
as an upper trough amplifies to the west, with potential for
phasing of multiple branches of the upper jet stream as low
pressure passes off to the SE. A combo of the operational
GFS/ECMWF (with support from the GEFS mean) suggests the trough
should amplify enough to bring the core of an associated SW-NE
oriented upper jet streak as far west as NYC, with fairly good
chances for some snow east of there across Long Island and
southern CT with H8 temps below 0C and H8-10 thicknesses below
1290 m. Latest ECMWF shows the core of the upper jet a little
farther west, across northern NJ. So have forecast high chance
PoP from NYC eastward, with most precip in the form of snow as
temps drop close to wet-bulb temps AOB 0C with onset of precip.

All that said, global models often have a SE bias with low tracks in
this scenario, and it would only take a 50-60 mile westward shift to
bring more significant snowfall amounts to the coast, so this
scenario will have to be watched closely
.

Shortwaves dropping into
the western extent of the longer wave trough across the Mississippi
Valley may help determine the eventual outcome--since they are
dropping southward into the base of the trough, they would be more
likely to reinforce or amplify, rather than kick the offshore low
farther out to sea
Last paragraph is talking about energy coming from Mississippi valley most likely will enhance snow for us rather than kick the storm out farther

Some areas in CT got over 3/4" with this front. Nice.
