Lol yes, my first year doing something like this. I'm gonna try and make a "report" on each storm later.

Use the inner tube. Maybe this will help.... From this morning.

Taking the core from the snowboard. 1"

Fill inner tube with hot water ... DONT FORGET to write down how much hot water you added. Pour hot water into Gauge.

Stir it and watch it all melt to liquid. Now measure it all and subtract the hot water amount. Done.

Sometimes you have to add several inner tubes of hot water when there's a lot of snow. Just write each number down.

For what area?

Figure after 3am precip moves in. But will be very light.

New changes now have more precip Monday night too with rain or snow. Light stuff. No big storms on the horizon.

I want to do one for BDR but NWS NY is annoying me. No ISP or BDR measurement for this early big snowstorm>?!!!

They finally have a number for ISP (4.3") but none for BDR for some reason! In fact the 4:30pm report shows they got ZERO snow (instead of the previous reports that said it was missing). Hopefully they fix that soon.

I was thinking about how NYC got 5.5" last April and wondered if this was the shortest period between last spring and first fall snowstorm....but had been busy yesterday so I forgot to ask, thanks!

One way I heard the arctic air dropping down described is imagine the North Pole is a refrigerator and you leave the door open......the fridge itself (the Pole) gets warmer than it used to be but the surrounding areas (in this case places like us below the pole) get some of the shifted cold air and get colder. As for why that is the debate....
