Looks like after the rain Saturday, a coastal storm forms on Monday in response to the Jet stream off the coast. GFS has it as a sub 990mb low (strong storm).

And because after the rain cold comes in, it could be snowing Monday evening. Have to see how far off shore the storm stays and how much moisture is around.

Then............. A Christmas Present?? Or Not. GFS has a NorEaster around Christmas Eve. Ignore temps for now, too far out.

ZEROs!!

Drought? LMAO! JOKING! Loving this boring Dry pattern. Give me Snow or Dry weather. I hate rain Fall & Winter!

Edit: Just checked my data. This is the longest streak of 0-T precip this year! No wonder why it feels weird....and good!

2nd longest was 8 days in a row in August. And only 4 times with 7 days in a row all year!

That means there was accumulating precip every 6 days or less most of the year. Mostly every 3-4 days actually.

See it?

Loop is for 5am to 7pm tomorrow. Snow starts in SWCT after 7am. Light and Scattered the rest of the state while Fairfield county sees it most of the morning.

Shameless plug for my usual almanac comparison...the Christmas snow is there.

Also for general entertainment...stores sometimes offer those “buy furniture/jewelry/etc and if it snows Christmas Eve it’s free” promotions, they’re usually insured. I noticed there weren’t this year. Makes me wonder what numbers/factors the actuaries are running.

this hazardous weather outlook is for southern connecticut,
northeast new jersey and southeast new york.

A quick moving low pressure system poses a moderate to high
potential for a light accumulating snowfall across interior portions
of northeastern new jersey, the lower hudson valley, and southwestern
connecticut thursday morning into afternoon. 1 to 2 inches of
snowfall is likely in this area. There is a low potential for
locally 2 to 4 inches of snow
. Hazardous travel conditions are likely
thursday morning into afternoon in this area.

along the coast, including the nyc/nj metro, light snow thursday
morning will transition to rain from southeast to northwest later
thursday morning into early afternoon, with a low to moderate
potential for a light snow accumulation before changeover to rain. A
dusting to around an inch of snow is likely before a changeover to
rain for the nyc/nj metro and northwestern long island. Hazardous
travel conditions are possible in this area, particularly away from
the south coasts. Meanwhile, eastern long island and southeastern
connecticut may see little to no snow accumulation.

Timing and location of heaviest precip, timing of onset of snowfall,
and timing of changeover from snow to rain are still a bit uncertain.
This makes for an overall low to moderate confidence snowfall
forecast at this time. Increasing clarity will likely not be until
early thursday morning as precipitation begins to develop into the
region.

4 inches? I doubt that high, even in hills. I'd put 2.5 as the max

Here it comes. Interesting how its moving Northeast but there's nothing in NJ or PA for us.

Light stuff. NO WORRIES.

2:30-6:30am loop

Look at those temps in Northern New England. No wonder why the snowpack is not melting.

Current radar. New piece developing on the south side of it all. Not reaching the ground in NYC yet. Too light.

But notice the areas with darker blues. Danbury, Ridgefield, Bethel about to see some flakes
