I am currently looking for my new home. I currently live in Stratford, CT - a well diverse town. I’ve found some properties on Hebron, CT that are gorgeous. I am wondering if anyone could give me insight about living in Hebron CT, and if it is minority friendly?
I’ve read up on the demographics and have seen multiple demonstrations of rallies for equality/Black Lives Matter.
I wish I could help but I have no idea. And it's probably best to get this information from another black person. White people like myself often don't recognize when an area is unfriendly to non-whites because we don't experience it.

Any feedback would be great.
Hebron is a very small New England town that is 98% white and only 0.5% black. While I can’t imagine you’d experience xenophobia on a large scale, I would not consider Hebron at all diverse. Nothing against the community, but it’s up to you as to whether or not you’ll feel comfortable there.
Do you need to commute somewhere? Will you be working from home? Student? We could use more information to make some recommendations for you.
I work in Hartford. I love small towns. I’m trying to find a healthy medium between family and work. I am not into living the city life. I love peaceful quiet areas.

I can totally relate because I don't like urban living either. I wouldn't choose to live in a city.
Maybe you could go hang around there for a day and see if you can pick up the "vibe" of the place. Bring a friend, have lunch, do some shopping. That may give you a sense of the place.
Best of luck to you. I hope you find a nice place to live where you are very happy.
Ah Hebron, the maple syrup capital of CT. Hebron is far from diverse (as are most CT towns) but it is relatively "Progressive" so you should be fine in regards to any worries about discrimination.

Great suggestion. Check it out, talk to residents, get a feel for it.
You may also like Middletown (the outskirts have a nice rural feel, similar to a small town) and Middlefield, which is basically an extension of Middletown.
Hebron is minority friendly in the sense that it is extremely unlikely you will encounter any overt racism. It is a reasonably progressive town but racially diverse it is not. It is very white, as the demographics illustrate. However, I would have no problem buying/living there as a brown woman. I like that Hebron feels rural but is close enough to shopping (Manchester/Buckland Hills for big box shopping, it has its own IGA supermarket) and job centers (Hartford, UConn, Middletown, East Hartford, Glastonbury are all easy commutes).

I have a black professional (high level manager of the corporate office of a bank) friend I went to HS with who recently moved to Middlefield and he loves it there and is very comfortable (like Dazzleman, as a white person I don't think it's my place to judge on this). Anyway, good luck!

Come to Lebanon then! Next to Hebron, a very cool town and everyone is welcome. You’ll get way more bang for your buck in Lebanon. Hebron is nice , but $$$ taxes and home prices. Lebanon is an agricultural town with loads of organic farms, a great farmers market in warm weather and organic beef farms too. Check it out!
