Nobody seems to know. They removed most of the hill there which is what the owner always wanted to do to develop the property. Some speculate that he will just sit on the property waiting for a commercial opportunity to come along (CVS once wanted to build on that site). Others think it will break ground in the spring. We will see.

I did see that the owner of the property on the other side of the Shell gas station has applied to demolish the old house on that property. You might expect a development to be proposed there in the near future.

Oh wow, I noticed the area was being worked on awhile back and thought they were going to work on the house. It has some really interesting stone work!

The people behind the work site must *love* the dropoff and being so exposed now. For those who don't know, here is the site we are talking about - look at the Oct 2021 vs Dec 2023 image

That house does have some interesting stonework. It is a charming house that could be very pretty but that likely would take a lot of money. Doubt many would like living on busy Hebron Avenue.

Many DO live on busy Hebron Ave, but that area is going to be full on commercial pretty soon at the rate it's going.

I know that many people live on Hebron Avenue, that’s why I said “like” living on it.

It would cost a lot of money to restore that house. You could buy a very nice house on a much quieter street for it. Still its shame to lose any interesting building.

New Canaan seems ready to take the state to task over 8-30g. It’s about time. Maybe a few more communities should join them to rid the state of this truly bad law.

Putting up signs that say "Yes to affordable housing, No to overdevelopment" is just silly and phony virtue signaling, let's be honest here. It really is. You can't do the former without the latter, and the ones who make those signs know it, as we all do.

Great to see another 8-30 proposal in Milford. I live close by and fully support the location for this.

According to the article this project is only nine units on a half acre. Thats a very reasonable density that is in line with other multifamily projects in Milford. This is much more reasonable height in line with other buildings in the neighborhood and appears to have sufficient parking. It is not a giant 5 story gray stucco box with 40 or more units like many other 8-30g projects.

A developer is redeveloping the former headquarters of Bridgewater Associates on Glendinning Place. The mixed use project is called Glendinning Village. The existing esteemed building will remain office space, half of which is already leased. Ten homes of similar design will be added with two of the homes having six studio units each for residents with disabilities. Those twelve units will be designated affordable. This sounds like a win-win for the town and the developers. It’s a shame that more 8-30g projects aren’t like this.
