Since this thread started, I discovered Honeycone in Chester. It absolutely gives Aruthusa a run for their money. Absolutely spectacular.

It’s about 775k east of river, so yes, about 21% of population. It’s easy to add up as there’s only a few towns in Hartford and Middlesex across river, then just add up Tolland, Windham, and New London.

Just tried Salem Valley Farms and the Bishop Orchard Creamery!

Honestly, I was disappointed with Salem Valley Farms! It was great, but it does NOT live up to the hype I’ve been seeing the praise for it on here. It’s definitely NOT better than Arethusa, Rich Farm, or the Walnut Beach Creamery.

I enjoyed Bishop Orchard Creamery as well and it’s definitely high up there but again; not quite the level of Arethusa!

Here are my Ranks currently:

1. Arethusa 9/10
2. Walnut Beach Creamery 9/10
3. Rich Farm 9/10
4. Bishop Orchard Creamery 8/10
5. Salem Valley Farms 8/10
6. J Foster 7/10
7. Ashley’s 7/10

Still need to try UConn Dairy Bar, Peaches N Cream, Robb’s Farm, Ferris Acres, and Tulmeadow Farms!

Honeycone, Danny. Go to Chester and try Honeycone. I agree Arethusa is better than Salem - 8/10 is accurate, as is 7/10 for Ashley's. I haven't tried the others. They are on my list.

I did Honeycone once and never returned. Not for me.

Maybe if I'm Chester again (love that town).

I want to try Arethusa* after a pizza on Wooster Street.

Here is the question: who has the best mint chocolate chip ice cream?

*I have never been there

Walnut Beach makes an amazing one, but it’s not always available. No green coloring, more of a natural mint flavor so not as strong, but I like that.

Abbot and Costello's has good ice cream - they both sell Gifford's (I just looked that up)

Doesn't the Bishop Orchard Creamery use Gifford's as well?
