Hi everyone,

I'd just like to get some feedback or opinions on the Black Rock section of Bridgeport.

1.) In todays real estate market, is it possible to purchase a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport for under $250k?

2.) What would be the zip code for the Black Rock section?

3.) Also, what would be todays going rate to purchase a home with 2 bedroom 2 bath house in Black Rock?

4.) Lastly, is now a good time for someone to think about buying in this area, or is market expected to have some more downside?

Thanks very much for any feedback and insight

Sorry no one has replied to this. It must be because of the holiday. There should be some condos in Black Rock in your price range. Check Relator.com for listings and home prices. I believe the zip code is 06605. As for whether this is a good time to buy or not, no one knows for certain. The best anyone can tell you is to buy a home that is within reason for your budget and stay in it for several years. If you are not planning on staying in it for several years, you might consider renting until things improve. Good luck, Jay

Black Rock below Ellsworth is a great area. Ellsworth starts to get somewhat sketchy, but if you stay south of it, you'll be ok. There will be a new metro north station built in Black Rock and opening (if on schedule) in 2011. Black Rock is Bridgeport's best neighborhood I think. I would wait another 4-6 mos to buy, then do it. Prices will probably keep dropping throughout 2008.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply about Black Rock and your advice to stay south of Ellsworth. I checked out the map and have a better idea of where to look.

I've also checked out realtor.com, but there doesn't seem to many listings at this time. I guess I'll just keep my eye on things.

Thanks again for all the feedback
