Yes, but you should notice their prices for gasoline. Somehow they are above those seen in most gas stations in Stamford or Norwalk (even in Port Chester, NY right across the border) and many times by alot. Quite frankly, I don't think that is a coincidence. Many gas stations in Greenwich don't even post their prices on the sign by the road, like they do in most gas stations. Wonder why...

Franklin Templeton Investments has fully renewed its lease at 100 First Stamford Place. Nice to hear in this era of Work-From-Home and office downsizing. Jay

For someone who has to go from harbor point ( south end ) to downtown it would save lot of door to door traffic time I guess as they don't have to get off metro north and hop onto subway at grand central. Makes stamford southend even more attractive.. Regarding viability, I think build it and they will come.

At current ridership levels, most likely not worth it. If this was 2019, maybe, depending on prices, subsidies, travel times, schedule, etc etc. Keep in mind that besides Wall St stop, all other ferry stops are a “hike” from most offices in Manhattan.

A drive from Stamford to Manhattan takes about a hour without a traffic jam along the way. By train its about 40 minutes (there is an express from Stamford to Grand Central, one stop in Harlem). If the ferry can get to Manhattan in about those times, it could be worth it as a commuting option.

Many years ago (maybe in 2006) I went on the Circle Line ferry that goes around Manhattan (the furthest south is near Ellis Island with a very clear, up close look at the Statue of Liberty) and that took around 3 hours. That may have been on purpose to get a clearer view (good for photos) of Manhattan’s skyline from the three rivers that surround it.

It all comes down to how long it takes a ferry to go from Stamford to Manhattan.

By the way, the Manhattan skyline is visible immediately off the coast in Stamford. It’s quite a sight to see. From land you can’t see it except in very select areas of Shippan Point and maybe from Dolphin Cove.

It depends where in Manhattan

Harlem 30 mins without traffic
Midtown 43 mins without traffic

No. No one wants to go back to Manhattan everyday.

Looks like buildings from 533 Pacific to 670 Pacific are being refitted to house a beer garden, food truck lot and other small businesses.. the end goal is to create a main street for southend. State grant is being used for this project.
