I'm doing some research on the New Haven rail line that ran through Bridgeport during the 1940's and 1950's. I'm also looking for info on the rail lines that feed many of the city's factories. There isn't much out there on the web. The city of Bridgeport was a vital producer during the war years with about 500 factories producing goods for the war effort. Any help would be great.

There was a train show at the Eastern States Exposition earlier in February that attracted many folks from southern Connecticut and Westchester County. Aside from the model train displays, many of these vendors had post cards and books highlighting the era when it was the New Haven Railroad.

In addition, many of these vendors were retired railmen who were happy to be swapping stories.

There were a few clubs present, but I didn't get the names. Maybe you could try a search on google as a starting point.
