The post was in reply to the OP's original thread. I think it is clear from the article if Manchester does or does not have a drug problem. If it is not worth mentioning why were there articles about it? Also I think people should be informed of what is going on in a town instead of trying to sugar coat things. Just because things are not happening in your "bubble" does not mean they are not happening in the town. People can either live with their heads in the sand or face reality. Personally, I prefer reality.

IMHO your reality is based on inexperience and media drama (After all, you posted that you just started out in life as an adult, on your own in 2010)...My reality is living in several locals in CT and 7 years abroad in several major metros...over the last 20+ years.

Manchester does not have a "drug problem"...period. Moreover, national statisitics - if you choose to use them shows the "town" is below the national average.

Take that as you wish.

In reality, this country has drug problem. It is just about everywhere. The real question is if it is any worse in Manchester than any other similar sized town. I think that it is not and may actually be less. I think that is what JViello means in his posts.

You ask why then is it being reported? It is because the media has little else of consequence to report. It is common for the media to take something and make it bigger than it really is just to sell newspapers or advertising. Jay

Pretty much...the drug problem, and I use the term loosely - is a joke compared to other places in the nation.
