Our Samsung Front Loader takes 40-50 minutes depending on the cycles. There is either something wrong with it or your settings are messed up. How old is it? Maybe the timer is sticking, if it's pre-electronic. Now our new dishwasher (LG) takes almost 2 hours but that's due to the energy efficiency, and very low water use, it has to spend more time with the small amount of water spraying and do more rinses.

I don't know if I can't find the magic button but I hate my LG washer. The normal wash goes for about 2 hours but there is a drying cycle, quick wash is for about 30 minutes but it doesn't get them clean enough. I need the in between cycle without the drying.

Nothing in the manual to help? I know they even have a smartphone app for the newer ones. Our LG dishwasher has an app that listens to codes and diagnoses maintenance needs and problems. The latest washers and dryers have wifi capability and can text you when the load is done.

It is Indesit IWB5105. As you can see in the right corner there are several options:
3h
6h
9h
12h

I assume h stands for hours. The question is how to make this machine wash within 30 minutes or 1 hour at most (including time in the end when it rotates to squeeze wet clothes).

mine takes forever.. and I end up washing most smaller things by hand to get them out on the line ... why in this day and age of trying to save energy and water must a machine take so long and use so much water and electricity..

Here's the instruction manual for your model. It's the UK manual, but I'm sure in the US it will be pretty much the same.

Indesit IWB 5105 Washing Machine Manual

That 3h, 6h, 9h and 12h is a delay function (ie delay 3 hrs, delay 6 hrs etc). Page 6 of the manual lists all the different wash cycles you can choose - some of them do seem to be quite long, but there's a 15 min express wash and a synthetic fabric eco wash that runs 50 mins. Both better than 3 hours!

Good luck!

Hmmm, I wonder if the OP's machine actually only takes 50 minutes but has been setting the delay start so it sits for an hour before starting?

That sounds more like it. Thanks for doing the verification.

If you set the Cycle on 3 and the temp at 60-degrees, the cycle time is 155-minutes. Holy sh-t!

Is there a way to change the title of the thread? I meant WASHING MACHINE, not WASHING WASHING. lol
Title Fixed.

My wife says it takes 38 minutes to wash clothes in its fastest mode. I stay away from the machine. It was expensive. It sounds like it's from out space. I was forbidden from washing clothes years ago as I don't do it correctly. I stay out of the laundry room.
