My DVD player is skipping badly. I have a cleaner and have used it repeatedly, but it is not helping. I think I need to take it apart and clean the lense. Has anyone ever done this before? Do I use alcohol and a Qtip? Or should I use the soft cloth I use to clean my glasses with or without alcolhol? Once I take the machine apart, which I am hesitant to do, will I know the lense when I see it? Does it look like a piece of glass? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Your local electronics store should have a cd or DVD laser cleaner, looks like a regular disk with a brush and bottle of solution. Normally less than 20. No dissasembley required.
If this doesn't resolve the problem, then replace the DVD player, cheaper than repairs normally.
