Hello, another Oreck transplant (maybe) here ...
what is the status of High speed internet in the baxter, cookeville, algood areas?
Is DSL or Cable available? - Cost? Quality?
Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I haven't seen info on this anywhere.

Thanks
Henry

I don't know the specifics, but Charter is the cable company in Cookeville and offers cable internet. I believe it's also the cable company for the entire county.

Frontier is the phone company for Cookeville, Algood and Monterey, and it offers DSL. It's also building a wireless network that will cover the entire city of Cookeville, but not the county or the other cities in the county.

Twin Lakes is the phone company for Baxter and South Cookeville. It also offers DSL.

I don't know about prices or specific speeds.

I don't think it's a dumb question Henry. I was wondering the same thing about the Greeneville area. Anyone know about the Greeneville area and internet/cable/satellite service?

We have DSL provided byTwin Lakes outside of Monterey. It's $30.00 a month. When we got it last year the phone guy who installed it said we were the first on the Mountain to get it LOL. Not as fast as I'm used to but it works.

can anyone tell me the approximate cost for DSL in Greeneville and Johnson City? Also, what about Cable TV in both those areas? Will probably be moving in June and need to start planning. Also if anyone knows average monthly cost for Telephone (Greeneville and Johnson City) that would help too!
