Galveston is worse then Corpus in some areas. But if you look at Corpus in comparison to the rest of the US it has some serious problems. See the detail here: http://www.city-data.com/forum/corpu...s-christi.html

That does not mean it can't be a great place to live if, as long as you are aware of the problems that you need to be careful about.

Honestly, if you are not involved in crime in CC, you don't have to worry about it. The only crime that there really is, other than property theft, is gang and drug related. So if you aren't affiliated with gangs or drugs, you should not have anything to worry about.

So all the victims in Corpus are criminals? I doubt that.

I never said that. A great majority of victims are involved in crime one way or another though.

To me, it just seems people make it seem like crime in CC is so much worse than what it really is.

How is that any different then saying "the majority of victims in Corpus are criminals"?

Its not. That is exactly what I am saying. Most crimes in this city, other than burglary, are either gang related or has to deal with someone who associates or has a relationship with gang members and violent people.

That's how it is down here in the valley also. There is very evident crime down here, bodies being found in canals, home invasions being done by 7 or 8 masked men with uzi's, car jackings; however, almost all of it is criminal on criminal activity, and as people are trying to say, if you're not involved with crime activity, i.e., a mafia member or wannabe, than you are pretty safe.

Why is that so hard to except, becasue Wikipedia tells you different?

bb54321: i would like to know more on CC's outdoor society. currently my finance and i live in san antonio, but we are planning on moving down CC due to the lower school rates next year. we are avid mtn bikers, campers, fishermen, he's a surfer, kite surfer, thinking about wind surfing. anyway i'm interested to know more about CC's outdoor scene. we recently went camping on mustang island, and i noticed a small park near the a&m campus but other than that i haven't seen any other out door stuff.

Also if anyone could please talk more about the everyday life there that'd be awesome. we are a quiet couple whom enjoy simple things, not the typical college couple (no drinking, no drugs, or partying) or if anyone could recommend maybe a quiet apt complex that'd be great.
