LISBON, Portugal (AP) -- Hundreds of tourists, most of them British retirees, were stuck in Portugal's Madeira Islands after authorities refused to let their cruise ship leave port because of a financial dispute, officials said Wednesday.
Port authorities on the island of Funchal told the Portuguese news agency Lusa they were awaiting a court ruling before allowing the ship to continue its voyage to Falmouth, England.

This seems to be an anomaly in the cruise line business. VanGough is a single ship independent that started out on rough times from it's previous owners hardship.
