Thank God the driver of the Range Rover was Asian and not white, otherwise watch the media headlines and politicians distort reality to "Range Rover leaves site of accident and mows down working class fathers."

Where did I say that the cop should've intervened?

What's the difference between "debrief" and "coming forward"? No need to make it public, but he didn't report it until several days after the event and even lawyered up.
Heck, he may not have been undercover to investigate these bikers.

The photo at the top of this article reveals a bit of insight into the mindset of the thug who smashed the RR window:

Best quote ever...

“It’s difficult to lead a double life,” said Detectives’ Endowment Association President Michael Palladino. “Even Clark Kent had difficulty hiding the fact that he was Superman.”

Here's an incident by the same group in 2011 where they surrounded a car that was trying to make its way through an intersection (incident at 1:19 mark or so). Notice the signal light ...

If you look at Anderson Cooper's interview with the person Sergio who stopped the attack on Lien, see AC360 Exclusive: Hero bystander speaks – Anderson Cooper 360 - CNN.com Blogs , around the 4:35 mark you'll see a motorcyclist, most likely Cruz, run up to the Range Rover, and furiously open the drivers side door, and that prompted Lien to speed off to protect his family. Had Cruz not tried to pry the door of the Range Rover open, Lien would not have sped off. Mieses' injuries are due solely to Cruz actually opening the Range Rover's door to drag the driver of the Range Rover out to the highway to attack, there is no other way to view it. No normal person after a minor collision would run up to a car to open the door of another car except to assault the other driver. Cruz only did that because he had 50 other thugs backing him up. If Lien had just stayed on the highway and not sped off, he would have been beaten to death and his wife and baby attacked because no one would have stopped the assault. It's only because Sergio stopped the attack that Lien and his wife and baby are alive today. The driver of the Range Rover saved himself and his family by speeding off. T

There was another bystander interviewed who said they also opened the wife's door and tried to pull her out, but bystanders intervened. Biker gang in SUV assault attempted to grab driver's wife too | Mail Online

Why is everybody upset with the Off duty cops?
They were off duty on their own time!

That would have been best. But then when someone has their family's safety to consider and the reality that bikers may also have the bright idea to tote a piece while out harassing families in SUV's... Sometimes we dont think as rationally in dangerous highway situations when operating a vehicle as much as while at home, safely typing into iPhones or computers.

They were riding with these guys, watching them break numerous laws, not just with the Rover but before that, when they were riding on sidewalks and running red lights. Just because a cop is off duty doesn't mean he can be part of a group of people breaking laws. If he was with a group of guys doing drugs or stealing, is it okay because he was on his own time? He watched a guy get pulled from his car and beaten, for goodness sakes.
