There was something about pain pills. Did he have a physical injury that was unstopping like Rush Limbaugh or Kitty Dukakis? Maybe he was trying to have some painless days?

Silly Seymour. Did you not know that shooting five bags of heroin into your arm can kill you!

WTF was he thinking ? So talented and stupid at the same time. I thought he was a great actor... so much range. From Ben Stillers goofy side kick in "Along Came Polly" to the villian in MI-3 , to his Oscar winning portrayal of Truman Capote.

Didn't artists in the 19th century snort cocaine?

Here's more breaking news:

Over 20,000 children die of the effects of poverty (like starvation) every day in this world. Where are their headlines?

12,000 fewer children perish daily in 2010 than in 1990 | UNICEF USA

I'd say a pertinent fact about starving children is the fertility of adults who lack the ability to provide for the children to whom they give birth. In the Horn of Africa, men sire huge families, only to see them starve to death as wars and droughts make food unavailable. You might call the constant production of children wise given how many will not survive. But the ultimate effect of the process is large numbers of dying juveniles. Not that this is actually the topic, but I find people who make an issue of child starvation are more interested in emotion than facts.

So sad. I wish there were more programs to help addicts. Not the usual rehab programs, but free, innovative programs. Such programs could put a lot of people to work, as helpers and carers. And it could help those struggling. There are programs like NA, but many places don't have them. AA can be not as welcoming to those struggling with addictions other than alcohol, it depends on the particular AA group. It is just a terrible situation. I hope more help can be created. Another pipe dream of mine - addicts who wish for help to have a safe, beautiful haven to go to, where they can help homeless animals, help make gardens and walking paths, make blankets for the homeless, etc. Such loneliness in the world, leading many times to substance abuse to mask the unrelenting pain the person feels.

True. But, according to UN numbers, the worldwide poverty rate has been slashed by 50% since 2000. Meanwhile, there's a steady supply of idiots who think that heroin won't hurt them.
