What a horrible thing to do to another human being with seemingly no provocation. The guy rams their vehicle three times, she gets out to look at damage (a terrible mistake) - he pins her against her vehicle with his truck and then as he is driving away, throws it in reverse to back over her. Luckily, some witnesses were able to stop him from escaping before the police arrived.

This kid's family has vast resources, so it will be interesting to see what his defense team can cook up.

What a bad precedent the "affluenza" defense set.

He's got that 100 yard stare. I seriously doubt he's all there.

Tragic shame.

I'm guessing they'll say he was mentally ill. From what was written, it seems that he was out of his mind. If it wasn't drugs, I'd have to guess that he had some sort of mental breakdown.

Keep in mind, that wouldn't excuse what he did in my eyes.

Yeah, no excusing this. I think something just tweaked in his head & he went off. Or, some people are just jags who have no reason for what they do except that they want to do it.

It may be mental health, but this smells like Afluenza. Regardless he should be detained for a very long time in either prison or the mental hospital. He is an extreme danger to society. Our right to safety is greater than his individual rights.

That's horrible and just sick. Anyone I know of would get out of the car to check, unless it was clear to them they were under attack.

Really sad for the victim and her family.

Exactly why do you think this "smells like Afluenza"?

Do you believe he thought, "You know, my parents are rich and can get me out of anything. I think I'll kill the person in front of me and then pull over after."?
