Saw something on the news last night about kids throwing rocks and railroad spikes at vehicles here in the DFW area. One lady got hit by a rock and it tore her face up.
Luckily they caught the little turds who did it. Hopefully the penal system will leave a lasting impression on them.
Thats nothing new- we were about to go under a bridge a few years back when we noticed
appx. a half dozen teens on the bridge dropping bricks onto peoples vehicles.
We even noticed an old lady who was pulled to the side with a shattered windshield.
We pulled over & chased them down.
Coincidentally a guy I grew up with who's also a cop also saw them
& started chasing them at the same time we did- they were totally busted.
Delinquent scumbags
Unfortunately this stuff happens ALL THE TIME... I remember a report a little while back from some lady driving on one of the major highways in Philadelphia who had a beer bottle come crashing through her window when she came out from underneath an overpass. Lucky for her it didn't strike her and the incident didn't cause her to get into an accident.
The really need to start putting fence type protection that hovers entire overpasses anymore to help prevent stuff like this... I am sure places to have this type of thing already.
This happened 10 years ago to a local woman who was honeymooning with her husband in VA, only it was a boulder tossed over an overpass. She was blinded in one eye, had her head split open, various broken bones, and was permanently disfigured. http://articles.latimes.com/2004/mar...adna-boulder21
From reports, tossing rocks onto unsuspecting drivers' cars seems to be the fun thing to do. Of course, the incidents are all attributed to "youths."
in 1996, i used to chat with a guy on mIRC on dalnet i think. anyway he would do pranks which were very dangerous. he would throw blow up sex dolls on a freeway against speeding cars. not sure what happened to him. i was young then (about 19) and so was he so it was immaturity taken to an extreme. i wonder if any accidents came about. i am betting that kid ended up in trouble.
In any society without values continuously happen similar cases: from Germany till UK.Too much PC games, alcohol and marijuana, too few book reading, church going and good education.
No, these things have been happening before PC games and marijuana became easy to get. I would maybe agree about alcohol but I would wager most of the time the kids weren't drunk. I think your solutions might be too simplistic; maybe more a matter of parents teaching their kids right from wrong and paying attention to what they are doing.
strong LOL to anyone who thinks video games and marijuana are to blame
this sort of thing has been happening since before there were overpasses
humans are monkeys and throwing stuff at other stuff is a basic impulse
i was at the park yesterday and there were a bunch of ducks quacking around the lake. A squad of adorable tykes rolled up on their scooter bikes and started pelting the ducks with rocks
To add to the stories--I remember one here in NJ about 20 years ago when some teenagers threw a bowling ball off an overpass. It crashed through a car windshield, bounced of the dashboard, and killed a baby in a car seat in the back.
