ZZZZZ slow news day. Millions of beautiful women and men in the world. Every so often the media grabs on to one to hold up before us and the populus grabs on to her hook line and sinker.
I was reading this article earlier as well as some of the responses.
The one that is most relevant pointed out we are viewing her through western eyes. She's attractive to me but not much more. However, apparently in Asian culture, she is the ultimate in what they consider attractive. A couple of people went so far as to say to them, she's straight out of a Sailor Moon anime.
So yea...I think the entire thing is absurd but we should all remember our personal ideas of beauty aren't the standard around the world.

Huh? The point isn't relevant? It's a thread about a girl being too beautiful to do something...and now peoples' opinions on her beauty is irrelevant? Yeahno.
It's just that her looks are causing a distraction to her other teammates and the team in general. I suppose it's not bad to get attention and publicity, but I'm sure there's bound to be petty jealousies and drama as she's getting all the attention around the world, what about her other teammates.
her coach, and her teammates, should thank their good fortune that anyone in the world has any reason to comment on or even notice Kazakhstan's under-19 national volleyball team.
She is pretty and very good looking when pictured at certain angles.
She's distracting because in the Asian culture she is basically the epitome of beauty. Tall (but not too tall), thin, pale skin, sleek hair and slightly wide eyes.
the 200 pounders hanging out on the internet will try to downplay the fact that she's attractive.
its always natural to notice someone's attractiveness. but its not relevant to the discussion so people who feel the need to post about it have their own issues. in this case, i guess there is some kind of resentment for someone getting credited for attractiveness which maybe they dont get for themselves.
What do you mean? How isn't her attractiveness relevant in an article about her being too attractive?
There's nothing to psychoanalyze. She's just not that hot. Simple as that.
It was the need to judge her by some here, the need to say she's not that hot, that warrants psychoanalyzing. The topic isn't "Do you think she's hot?", it's about the broader issue of whether looks should have anything to do with her ability to play volleyball and whether it's fair to even focus at all on a professional athlete's looks. Someone's opinion of whether shes hot or not is a totally moot point and IMO doesn't add anything to the conversation/topic/debate.
