Hotness has nothing to do with a persons ability to play a sport well.

Keep in mind Oriental cultures have different standards of beauty. IMO, she's a low 8, and the naturalness of her looks is a HUGE leg up. Many Hollywood stars are plain dreadful w/o the standard make-up, and would likely get nowhere if they relied solely on looks.
Nobody's ever said Michelle Wie is too good-looking to be playing golf, and she gets mobbed in Taiwan and Japan. But golf isn't a team sport. The coach in this case is complaining that she's getting all the attention, instead of the team.
I think the Asian part of the world better get ready for more beauties coming out of the Central Asian nations. I suspect we haven't seen nothin' yet.
its always natural to notice someone's attractiveness. but its not relevant to the discussion so people who feel the need to post about it have their own issues. in this case, i guess there is some kind of resentment for someone getting credited for attractiveness which maybe they dont get for themselves.
I get where you are coming from, but the thread title and I guess the article title issue a challenge and beg the question from the types of people you are opposed to. I have to admit, when I clicked the link I expected to see some form of exquisite creature that would quite literally blind and distract any players and referees in her immediate vicinity rendering competitive play impossible.
The difference between me and them, though is I didn't feel the need to post about whether or not I was impressed, fulfilled, satisfied, etc...
How many creeps does it take to keep a forum going? She's a teenager for gods sake - and how unbelievably sexist to assume that her looks are the problem rather than the pervs leering at a kid from the stands.
She looks like a cute teenager. Could be the reason Taiwan is getting so excited about her is that she's tall. Her proportions are very different from the typical East Asian. Central Asians tend to be a bit taller. And sometimes they have a some European genes mixed in.
This is utterly ridiculous. She isn't even that pretty.
She's very cute but not drop dead gorgeous by any means. By the tone of the OP, I expected to be blown away when I clicked that link. I mean seriously... Is she really that good looking that she would stand out on your average beach volleyball team in California? I guess the only explanation would be that either her "critic(s)" have a severe Asian fetish or Kazakhstan simply doesn't produce a lot of beautiful women.
