I'm not sure how I feel about this, in spite of what she said a month ago. Though those doctors may be in trouble. But she was a funny woman.

She was amusing in her early days...but she became a mean and nasty old lady with terrible plastic surgery.

I was never particularly fond of her comedy, but she was a survivor in the rough and tumble world of stardom's fickle glory. She had her successes and failures and made many enemies along the way, but somehow kept a loyal fan base. Some reinventions work, others did not. She was a testament to the power of perseverance and to never leave the table when all the chips are down.

My sympathies go out to her daughter and family. May she rest in peace

Rest in peace Mz Rivers. I'll always remember her hosting in place of Johnny Carson on the tonight show.

I used to listen to a radio show she did (I believe during drive time evening) in the late 90's in New York. I think it was on WOR. Does anyone else remember this show? I remember just before the calendar rolled into the year 2000 she called Y2K "KY" and burst into giggles.

Just like George Carlin without the surgery.

Rivers stopped breathing during a surgical procedure on her vocal cords last week and had to be rushed from the clinic to Mount Sinai Hospital.

having unnecessary surgery is very risky, maybe this wouldnt have happened if she didnt have the surgery?

Do you know why she had an endoscopy? Neither do I. Perhaps they were checking for polyps. You realize that many NECESSARY surgeries are risky & can end in death as well. Should those be stopped?
