we know you can't be serious about your math here, but every year there are new black men and other black men get older. the older a man is, the less likely he is to commit a crime. so, no, a 100% of black men will never commit a violent crime.
So you're saying there's not a list of people waiting for a heart transplant?
If it were up to me, someone from his family would have to give up their heart to a person who was on that list. This is an example of a life wasted, literally.
What a shame, that heart could've gone to someone who wasn't a criminal.
Your bleeding heart is why this country is where it's at now and why we're headed even further in the direction we're headed in. You coddle and side with criminals more than the good people.

If, 15 years from now, he had been a feature article in People magazine about how getting a heart transplant had turned his life around and he went on to med school and was specializing in pediatric transplants -- everyone would have been saying, "Awwww . . . how wonderful!"
You just never know what path someone might choose. "He did not choose . . . wisely." Any mother would have fought just as fiercely to save her child, regardless if the child was a perfect angel or a terror.
The story did not have a happy ending -- but to second-guess a medical decision from two years ago and blame them for that now is NOT useful, helpful or even relevant. The young man died -- stupidly and spectacularly. It's sad, all around, and I'm sure his family and even his doctors are feeling many different degrees of sadness, frustration and chagrin.
Actually it wasn't hindsight......it was foresight!

You are assuming it's a different 2% every year.
First year: 2%. Next year: some of the same folks from last year, minus some who did not re-offend, plus some new ones.
There is no way to know how many people of any particular population group actually commit crimes, since many are never caught and many crimes go unreported.
In the US, the lifetime risk that a black male will actually serve time is about 1 in 3. For white men it's about 1 in 17, and for Latinos about 1 in 6. Those figures are from a study done some time ago, but I cannot find anything more recent.
No one is playing God. Doctors are playing human and allocating medical resources to those who have most use and promise to benefit from them.
And the moral of this story is that the medical profession should have been the ones to have made the final decision, not the emotional and PC influence that they succumbed to.
The kid was non-compliant and so a very poor choice to be given something of high demand and low availability
