A professional game hunter has been trampled to death by an elephant while leading a hunt with an American client in Zimbabwe. Ian Gibson, 55, was tracking animals in Chewore North in the lower Zambezi Valley of Zimbabwe, when the young bull elephant “began a full charge.”
In a note on the website of Safari Classics, the company explained Gibson had been searching for a target for five hours when they stopped for a rest. "Ian was tragically killed by an elephant bull earlier today while guiding an elephant hunt in Chewore North. Ian and Robert began shouting in order to stop the charge. At very close range, Ian was able to get off one shot before the bull killed him. The scene was very graphic.”
Just so y'all know, big game hunting in Africa is a big win
for the wildlife. (Just not to the ones that get shot.)
If the rich Bwanas didn't pay a fortune to hunt,
the poachers or starvation would get em.

Probably a fair point, but it doesn't fit in in with the fantasies of the more-militant among the animal-rights crowd.
This guy got what he deserved. I just hope that all those that are posting on this thread don't eat meat or they would be quite the hypocrite.
Such bull$hit. There is quite a difference between animals that are raised by farmers for consumption and animals that are on the verge of extinction. Is the world running out of boiler chickens or cattle? Are you a hypocrite for murdering plants for consumption? Unless you do not eat you are killing something to stay alive you hypocrite.
