Today that is certainly true, but in the not so distant past pizza was considered quite exotic.
The WPA Guide to New York, written during the great Depression and commissioned by the federal government, gives a rather extensive description of the dish in its discussion of the cuisine of Italian Harlem.
Maybe dishes like goat on a stick or camel burgers might become sufficiently popular with the American public that they'll donate these foods to food banks.
But that day hasn't come yet, so the muslim folks in Minneapolis should either accept what is offered now or not, and not look at a gift horse in the mouth.
