As much as William loves his beloved mother, I can't imagine he would want to burden his baby daughter with the first name of Diana. If anything, perhaps Di's middle name 'Frances' would also be a part of his daughter's name. That would be a lovely way to honor his mother.
They should name the princess something super trendy and very "now" like Giselle or CoCo.... or even after like a designer handbag like "Prada"... I also like the name "Justice" for the princess.
I don't see where Diana would be a burden. Regardless of what the rest of the world thinks, for William, that's his mother's name and it's very common to name a child for their grandparent, particularly one who died early.
It will be interesting to see if they call her Charlotte or use any nickname or one of her middle names.
Now the story I saw a couple of weeks ago about how the Queen was quite fond of Diana, and there was no tension in their personal relationship has context. I remember thinking at the time, "Why does this matter?" but it all makes sense today. Very calculated move.
I love her name! I am happy they did not burden her with Diana as a first name. I think that would be a lot to put on someone in this day and age.
