In recent interviews citizens are supporting the actions of police... while nonresidents and outside agitators.. black lives matter... are trying to make this another Ferguson ...which it is not
People are looking to justify their poor behaviors and then are outraged when Leo attempts to stop that behavior at the request of citizens ... in this case numerous 911 calls reporting assaults trespassing disturbing the peace . We have one officer who did not handle himself well...but was not racist. If you choose to be a part of chaos you get the result of that chaos
She was sitting on the ground yelling that she wants her mama. He (the officer) picks her up off the ground, as she was still sitting on the ground, and throws her back down on to the ground in a fairly aggressive manner. The officer then kneels on her while she is face down for some reason for the next minute of two of the video. Why was this reaction acceptable from the police officer? Is it because he has a badge and the young girl was crying? Way to handle a situation
I don't get the whole reasoning that "mouthing off" means an officer can slam you to the ground, several times and pin you down! These are kids! I'm 50 and I honestly don't know what I'd do - be in shock, scared, mad...because it is a completely NOVEL situation. You think in all that confusion that a 14 year old is going to be completely calm and even able to pay attention to directions?
Cops use absolutely no power of reason. They know ONE thing - use the highest degree of force they can get away with. Cops in the UK don't even have guns - how do THEY manage to control crowds, perps, suspects? I think we have a lot to learn from them.
We won't really know for sure until the police release the 911 transcripts.
Interesting..
A mother who was at the party gave a similar account. She spoke with her back to CNN's camera and didn't want to be identified, saying neighbors who vocally supported the officer had received death threats.

Because the media has made this out to be a 100% racial incident.

Ferguson wasn't Ferguson either (as it was portrayed by the damn media). You haven't gone over to the Saint Michael lying camp have you? It was another case of young blacks who have been taught to disrespect authority, then cry when reality hits.

There were multiple calls to 911.
The PD should release those transcripts immediately. Nothing can change the basic narrative of racism, but at least impartial observers will have an indication of what LEO felt they were confronting.
He's a 15 year old CHILD. The adults (who pay the bills and own the property) see things differently. HIS opinion is meaningless.. He's a CHILD taking part in the crime.
No, we're talking about the 43 year old black guy who actually lives there and defended the cops.

The problem is that the officer who did not handle himself well has become the story. The rest is noise. That officer has let his PD and his colleagues down. If he had handled himself with the professionalism of the other officers we would not be having this discussion. Now he has put his PD and his colleagues in a horrible situation. My guess is that he will end up leaving the PD.
Police officers need to understand that, in the digital age, they are under constant scrutiny. They have to assume that they are getting filmed and that means that their behavior has to be squeaky clean and professional at all times. They cannot afford profane language, they cannot afford to be perceived as using too much force and if they draw their weapons they had better be able to justify it.
