Now why would someone that has "white privilege" attempt to be black?
She wanted in the race hustling game? Seems to have been pretty successful too. This chick aint crazy, I listened to her. This is one calculated conniving white girl making money every which way from phony race lawsuits, teaching racial studies at colleges from a 'black womans perspective', and add in the salary from the NAACP. Shes a hell of a con artist and she picked a field ripe for the picking. Race hustling is big in America this administration. Now I sit back and laugh because the whities got you again. They know how to make money in any environment. :-P I almost tip my cap to her for having the balls to do it, but hey you gotta earn a living and if racial games pay, then you adapt and play.

I find NPR to be a lot more about foreign news than about American blacks.
It's probably worth keeping a log every morning (which is when I used to listen to it). Probably 80+% of the stories involve some sort of grievance porn.
A good way to maintain some sort of sanity is to simply quit listening to TV/radio news and stay away from newspapers. Read a book instead. If something is really important, you'll hear about it.

I've read many of these pages but not all.....WHY are her parents talking about this NOW? were they estranged and they're just finding out she was doing this? IF they've know all along, why say anything now?
Or...we can just blame "African-American" on Obama like everything else.
That is certainly not one of Obama's sins, though he helps t perpetuate it.
You can blame historical ignorance for it, as hyphenated-American has been around for a long time. The irony of the ignorance is that it has always been considered a slight upon someone to be called a XYZ-American. It was a way of saying you are less than a real American and/or that you had mixed allegiances to the country of your origin more so than assimilating into America.

Needless to say African-American is also an inaccurate way to describe everyone who is black. But since it is pushed by the PC crowd, that somehow is suppose to make it's inaccuracies and historical stigma be ok.
Yet they wont do the same for everyone, only minorities. That reeks of hypocrisy and is intentionally divisive.
Teddy if alive, would be looking to use his big stick to knock some sense into the liberal kooks of today.

We get it, you are against AA and have felt jaded as a result of it. Welcome to America. But this entire lengthy reply is irrelevant to The OP's post, and this deceptive woman and what she's done.
The portion prior to the area I separated and said "on a side note" is all relevant to the question that was pose.
Namely how does her race matter in this discussion. Obviously those who promote and defend programs like affirmative action are hypocrites to try and circumvent it for their own personal gain, while expecting everyone else to accept it.
Clearly if she told the truth that she was white, she wouldn't have been given either position.
Maybe the person posing the question was a moron or being obtuse, but I explained why it was relevant.

I suspect that they had just finally had enough. And they felt rejected as parents, and genuinely concerned about their daughter.
