Yeah well since I'm vegetarian, I can't be bothered. Why the hell would they not want a country of label origin though? It makes no sense.

This has nothing to do with China. Our border buddies, Canada & Mexico, don't want the labeling and have threated to impose retaliatory tariffs.

We have some local farms that sell meat here. I like the idea and like knowing where my food comes from but it's so expensive. The government is now moving backwards. It's only real function in selling food should be to require accurate labeling. Instead it bans food that threatens its big money friends and removes labels on food that does the same.

The WTO has put pressure on the US about this. There are several questions that are not addressed
such as, will other countries (other than Mexico and Canada) put the same demands on us. Also, will
this include produce (many countries still use DDT)?
