It's always been about $$$$$.
That's why I jumped ship years ago. It was a double whammy for me, not only did I fork over in church but also in class. Every morning the nun would stand in front of my desk with her hand out;
Me " Where does this money go?"
Nun " It goes to all the Pagan babies "
Me " I wish Mrs.Pagan would stop having so many kids "
It was cracks like that that earned me cracks across the knuckles with a steel-edge ruler. No wonder I developed arthritis at such an early age.
ha ha, yeah, I remember those days.
When I was in first and second grade, I thought the nun was saying 'peggin babies'. Had no idea...LOL I pictured kids playing with pegs.
All those poor souls who will not get to heaven......
"This is to certify, that you, Josephine King has shown non-support towards the First African Baptist Church of Bainbridge, Georgia and are in violation of the Policy III Membership, Section 1.
Evidently, Pastor Derrick Mike wants this 92 year old woman to pay up. Disgusting.
That what is all about - and all it's ever been about. Jesus was the exception, but the rule of organized religion has always been about money and power.
It is disgusting, but it doesn't matter. They'll gladly kick this woman out for not paying up, and then get back to singing hymns about how blessed are the poor.
Church I went to was the same. Even though they didn't kick people out for not "tithing", they sure did preach a lot about it, begging us for $$$ all the time. Morning and night.
During Christmas season, that's when everyone started asking question when the pastor was asking for so much.
This is what happen on that Sunday
1) Church pass the plates around for the normal tithing. Nothing wrong.
2) Another plate was passed for "Jesus Birthday". LOL WTF?
3) One last plate was passed to help the church pay for Landscaping Maintenance. WTF!
Although I agree they should have shown more Christian mercy but those who say its about money have no financial sense. Every church isnt rolling in money and i doubt most ministers get rich. Churches have bills to pay too and the minister certainly deserves a decent salary. Im sure the same folks who say its about money think the knuckleheads at McDonalds deserve $15 an hour while an educated dedicated minister should work for nothing.
It'd be great revenge if this sweet old lady was sitting on thousands of dollars she was going to donate to "the church" more like the pastors back wallet and is now going to give it to someone else instead.
Another person driven from Christ by the Catholic "church"...

Thanks for the bad trip down memory lane. Our nuns were 10 feet tall at least.
