Ky. clerk asks high court to intervene in marriage case

It is time Ms. Davis, the Apostolic Christian believer, "devote" as she claims she is, be sued to the extent possible in KY. At this point, I'd love to see her lose her house even if her job is safe. Just because she has a problem with SSM does not entitle her to deny others benefits.

One time so-called "Christians" thought that God told them black people were to be owned and worked as their conscience and desires saw fit. Now these so-called "Christians" believe that God tells them they don't want gay people to be married.

Christianity, where your belief to be a bigot is okay with people. When black people were refused service at a lunch counter, or ordered to use a separate water fountain, what is the difference between those bigots and these bigots?

Why hasn't she been fired. Just about any other employee who refused to do their job would be on the street by now. If she was this determine with her relationships, she would not have gone down the aisle 4 times and counting.

This is so simple it's barely worth discussing: Termination for failure to perform job duties.

She was elected, she can't be fired, but she can be impeached. But, apparently, her discrimination is quite popular in the Bible Belt of Kentucky, and that is unlikely. Hopefully this will cost her some money, as she can be fined.

She needs to go to jail for contempt. Keep her there for as long as she continues to ignore the court order. We'll see how long her primitive, hateful "faith" lasts then.

This week on Dangerous Religion News:

A clerk in Kentucky refused to issue a marriage license to a gay couple. The couple walked away, frustrated, although unharmed.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Middle East. . . . .

More explosions, beheadings, rapes, murders and general all purpose destruction continues.

Simple minded. How are they not unharmed when their pursuit of happiness is denied by a misguided woman defying federal judges?

She has a right to not do her job, and the voters have a right to impeach her. Can the judicial remove her?

I disagree with her position wholeheartedly but fact is she can IMO refuse to do her job as a result her employers can fire her.

Trouble is, she's not an employee - she's an elected official. The only options are impeachment (which isn't likely, because most of the legislature is composed of the same wacko religious nuts), or criminal charges. Criminal charges and jail time get my vote.
