Screw him... IF THIS HAPPEND IN THE 80s or before NOTHING WOULD HAVE HAPPEND!! (Except someone maybe saying "THATS NOT NICE" which it isnt)
Shoot, when I was in elementary school in the late '70s I was walking around during recess and happened to walk into a dart being thrown into the ground by some boys. It went into my foot, which was awful to look at but not too painful. The boys didn't even get in trouble. If anything, they reprimanded me for not paying attention to where I was going!
I didn't expect them to get in trouble, but imagine what would have happened in today's environment.
Oh for cryin' out loud! This is seriously going overboard. Here is a good one for you. Do any of you when you were in school remember taking little pieces of paper, folding them up and shooting with a rubber band? My son's school policy is if caught it is a mandatory 3 day suspension, and if caught a 2nd time it is a mandatory 5 day suspension with a recommendation for a weapon's charge.
Amazing.
Of course we did back in the day. It was considered nothng back then. Just a "Mr. X, stop that!" and we did.
Actually when I was a kid all the kids in our neighborhood used to have BB gun fights. Still have some of the scars to this day. lol Sure that was taking things a bit far even for those days but nobody ever lost an eye.
We also were pretty crazy, and used to make "potato guns" and play war while firing tennis balls at each other.
Was he "pretending" to shoot the "arrow" AT SOMEBODY ELSE?
I still think it is pretty absurd, but if he was aiming his imaginary arrows at other people, then that is a little different isn't it?
Whatever the actual case, a 3 day suspension is ludicrous. If he is 6, he is either in K or 1st grade. A stern talking to would impress upon him just how serious their zero tolerance policy is.

NO.
He is six years old. Playing like a normal 6 year old boy.
A stern talking to that would suppress normal behavior of a child playing to pacify a idiotic zero tolerance policy on normal behavior.
I think not. Parents have the power to stop these idiotic polices if they would just use it.
