Turkish authorities rounded up some 1,300 migrants on Monday that they said were planning to sail to Greece from hideouts near secluded Aegean beaches and forests, hours after striking a deal with the European Union on stemming refugee flows.

Not sure what is so objectionable here. Turkey is being compensated for its massive refugee commitment (it's currently overwhelmed). What exactly is "wrong" with Europe assisting Turkey in limiting the refugee flow into Europe?

There's history here. Turkey applied to be an EU member in 1987.
Besides the bribing Merkel promised them their EU membership.

There's your gateway of unfettered travel between the ME and the EU.

OK, and? What is so objectionable? You prefer Europe being overrun by migrants?

Seems like a good thing for both Turkey and the EU.

These groups really are not compatible and rally around their religions in spite of them all being refugees:

Kurdish Refugees Attack Yazidi Refugees

Christian and Muslim refugees should be housed separately, says German police chief - Telegraph

Persecuted Syrian Christians Avoid Refugee Camps, Fear Muslim Attacks

Turkey is probably the best fit for the Muslim refugees and the rest of Europe for Yazidi and Assyrian refugees. As Serbia showed the religions of this region are not really compatible.

I get all that. I just don't see what is so objectionable about Europe trying to get a handle on the refugee flows by working with Turkey to stem the flows.

Then, if Turkey becomes an EU member, they'll all end up in Germany, anyway.

Yep! And Turkey being a corrupt third world country, it will pocket the euros and then next year the problem will start all over. I think Capone and the mob called it "protection".

Money never solves anything as it lengthens out the problem. Eventually they have to enforce their own problems.

They need strong border walls, stronger guards and many , many bullets.

Um, all those things cost money. Looks like money does solve things.
