Because the Bundy YeeHawdists distinctly fail at any sort of prudent preparation. Their "storeroom" is a pathetic joke -- one case of canned vegetables, one cooler chest, and a bag of chips. Seriously.
Then they put out a plea for supporters to mail them socks and snacks via US Postal Service. They must be hoping that no other militia has taken over that government mandated function.
They're not preppers.
And their chances of survival are going down by the minute.
Unless they come to their senses and walk away on frostbitten feet in their cowboy boots.
Let's play devil's advodate here...the OP has stated that a couple of them are known to be preppers / survivalists. What if a couple of them were known to be black...or autistic...or muslims...or Asians...you get the idea. Is there any hard proof that none of the mentioned groups are not represented? Would the OP then proceed to tear a new one with any of those groups? I doubt it - it's not PC!
But in the mind of the OP, preppers / survivalists are fair game, vilified by the media, and none of 'em are worth a squirt can...so if a couple of those Oregon guys are "known" to be such, that just proves that the whole lot of us are rotten!

Oh, I dunno...the feds are well aware of the backlash that would ensue if another Waco or Ruby Ridge went down. Smartest thing (which I think they'll do) is NOTHING. Let the boyz just stay there and starve or freeze...turn the lights out, turn off the heat, turn off the water...shouldn't take too long, in this weather , and the whole affair will end peacefully....

I never said they were, they are working on behalf of some land owners aren't they? surely they could spare a steer or two? or even send a truck into town and actually BUY some food? is that too much for them to think about?
I think its hilarious that the "protestors" say this wasn't a last minute decision to come but nobody gave any thought to packing enough food for more than a couple of days.
