What a sad, tragic and unnecessary death. If some dog came at me in my own house and I had a knife, I would do the same thing. I can't believe the cops shot and killed that guy because of that flippin' dog. Apparently the dog's life was more important than the man they killed. Sad all around.

That's a pretty rude comment.

In any case, I don't think they should sic dogs on people who are not guilty (or even suspected) of any real crimes. They should have left the dog at the station, or at least kept it outside the apartment . Bringing it in there was unnecessary provocation.

You send a dog after someone backed into a closet, you gotta expect a 50-50 chance that they'll try to defend themselves. However, the odds of them striking back at a human police officer are much lower, because we know the human police officer won't try to rip our throat out.

The cops had guns. They could have defended themselves if he attacked them.

Apparently the same two officers who shot him, had also shot another man a couple years earlier. I don't know the details of that.
