Unless a shark is Jabberjaw or dinner, it belongs in the water.

For 99% of people it's just a dumb animal & they don't care.

I had to do a double take, as I believe something like this happened not too long ago in another similar incident.

An estimated 100 million sharks are killed per year by humans. Enough to have a really serious and unmeasurable effect on ocean ecosystems.

It is really open season on sharks.

Really? You can't figure out why people object to killing a wild animal for no purpose other than to take a selfie with that? That mystifies you?

It wasn't taken by fishing. You do know that even where conservation laws allow for the taking of a species, you can't just wade into the water and grab it? Try doing that with a bass in Texas or a muskie in Wisconsin or a trout in Montana - against the law. You have to take it by specifically prescribed methods. Or are you genuinely ignorant of that fact? Never mind. Rhetorical question...

Who cares. Grill the shark up. It's just a dumb fish. It's like flushing a gold fish down the toilet or going fishing. And it's a fish(tiger, bull, white specifically) that is dangerous to people and also kills wonderfully sweet/smart animals with actual emotions like dolphins and seals. And it's not like they are endangered.

You're being lied to when people tell you sharks that attack people are endangered. The sharks that attack people are plentiful and in many cases overpopulated like the bull and tiger sharks. And numbers are going up every year on the GW due to a lack of fishing pressure. Cape cod as an example of a place that used to have no GW's and now is infested with them. That's why you have increasing attacks on people around the world. Of course the wacko's believe that a human's life is no more important than a fishes/gorillas/lions ect. Sad state of moral decay when animals become more important than people. It started out with dogs being better than people, but now it's every animal, except for pigs/cows, even though a pig is smarter than a dog. There's more moral outrage over a gorilla or a lion being killed than isis burning people alive.

Even some wacko's crying for the alligators being "murdered" near disney world. Sick world we live in. Same tired excuses of "it's their land/ocean". Land owner rights to sharks/alligators. Absolutely laughable. Of course these same hypocrites than go and eat meat where animal's are kept in horrid inhumane conditions and slaughtered by the millions. You don't need meat to survive. You eat because it tastes good. Get real. Bunch of hypocrites. Facebook animal rights fanatics remind me of mob lynchings the way they go after people. Really disgusting. Ranting about a zoo being cruel and then applying human psychology to a zebra(who's better off in a zoo than the wild), while eating a burger. God what a joke. I wonder if it was THEIR child in that gorilla cage would they wait for a tranq? haha....we all know the answer to that.

Dolphins don't kill people. Sharks do.

I have no problem with pure sport fishing or fishing to get a selfie. Obviously bag limits for certain types of fish that are routinely eaten because otherwise there will be no fish left.(ie tuna) If you want to use your bag limit to get a selfie, all the best. Sharks are overpopulated badly and they are dangerous to people. It's a FISH. The fish doesn't care why your own "moral" reason for killing it is. It forgets it's entire life every 30 seconds and has no emotions. IT'S A FISH.

Let them feed it to their dogs or the homeless if you're so worried about the meat being used.

Poor shark...just chilling and enjoying his day when a group of schmucks kidnap him from the ocean and kill him because apparently they've never been to an aquarium (and seen a shark). The mouth breathing knuckledraggers strike again.

Dolphins just try to rape humans. Shark attacks are a misidentification. They accidentally bite and release.

It is really open season on sharks.
They are clearly prolific breeders then if we can manage to kill 100 million of them and there's still some left!
It should be open season on them. They attack people all the time.

What specific devastating effects on the ecosystem. This is a manipulation tactic used by env. science/animal rights fanatics to push an agenda. It's not science. You could wipe out the white shark and the ocean would be just fine just the way the cougar was wiped out of eastern north america and the ecosystem didn't collapse. I'm more worried about increasing human population becoming unsustainable in 500 years than the loss of a single species. You could lose the lion off Africa and other predators would pick up the slack. Every species that has existed will eventually go extinct. Now if you want to conserve these species because you think they are cool, then fine, but don't try to manipulate this into something it's not. That killing a few sharks will cause us to "lose the oceans". It's hard enough to get people to believe in global warming, without this stupid propaganda that sharks can't be fished for.

How many tuna are killed every year?
How many white sharks are killed every year?

What percentage of the 100 million is actually sharks that attack people? The white/bull/tiger numbers are increasing every year and fishing pressure on them is down. That's reality. Visit cape cod sometime or certain areas of Australia. GW numbers have skyrocketed. Bull sharks are absolutely infested in tropical oceans around the world. The ocean is huge and sharks like the bullshark are about as hard to wipe out as cockroaches. haha
