Yeah, that's the funny part of all this outrage. OK, sure, Russia builds a military facility 700 miles from the US. Wow. And they even have 50 tanks, most of them not a day over 40 years old!

Meanwhile, we have hundreds of military bases within several hundred miles of Russia, with hundreds of thousands of troops and an undisclosed number of both strategic and tactical nuclear weapons.

Just exactly what is the issue here?

Are we supposed to be afraid that those 50 second-generation tanks will fight their way north, over a thousand miles through tropical rainforest and over mountain ranges, across three countries - Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico - and invade Texas? Maybe people who saw 1984's Red Dawn and thought it was totally realistic.

Don't under estimate the paranoia of the average American citizen!!!

Back in the '91 gulf War, we destroyed more than 50 T-72s in a single day multiple times.

They're VERY obsolete, but suitable for a banana republic like Nica that won't ever have to face a well-equipped opponent.

As far as a spy base, the Russian embassy in DC is their biggest anywhere.
