Meet this year’s most popular toy, Hatchimals, which are flying off shelves so fast, they’re nearly impossible to find.
Hatchimals are birdlike stuffed animals that actually hatch from a hard egg shell once they are played with long enough. Kids then teach them how to talk, walk and play through three phases of life — baby, toddler and child.
This is one of the hottest toys but I think the NES Classic is THE hottest toy. It is impossible to find at it's retail price of $65 and instead is selling for as much as $900 on Ebay. I agree about the recycled old ideas though as both toys fit the category.
My daughter wants one. I heard a rumor that they are making a ton of them and will release them in time for the holidays. I wont pay a cent over retail value if I get her one.
I watched less than four minutes. I couldn't take any more. Why the hell would anybody, kid or not, want this? It's a marketing ploy. It proves how easily we can be indoctrinated to want/believe anything.

I assume you are not a kid anymore ?
And/Or you had a lousy childhood !
What is NOT a marketing ploy.
Why do you choose one product over another ?
With my daughter it was the Cabbage Patch doll. And, no, I wasn't going to spend thirty-some dollars back then for a doll worth a couple of dollars. Makes you kinda resent those toy manufacturers.
At least then the toys didn't play for the child, the child played with the toy.
Well, that's about the weirdest dang deal thing I've ever seen!
